CHRIS REEVES, President and Cofounder

Chris received his BA in creative advertising from the University of North Texas in 2004. Before co-founding 2930 Creative, he worked with many local and national brands such as Hilton, Marriott, Doubletree, Cinemark, Traxxas, Michaels and Mary Kay. Chris has a passion for design, podcasting and business. He believes in always doing his best while empowering clients to be able to do theirs. Before pursuing advertising, Chris was known as DJ Cool-C. You may have seen him play around DFW and thought “that guy looks he’s going to run an ad agency one day.” Chris also spent a lot of time playing in bands and learning the DIY work ethic that still drives him today.

When he’s not working on 2930 Creative stuff, he’s spending time with Carly. If he’s not doing either of those things, he’s walking the dogs, watching basketball, organizing his vinyl collection, watching cartoons, playing video games or learning to draw. When he’s not doing any of those other things, he’s secretly an office ninja saving the world from bad ads.

CARLY REEVES, Vice President and Cofounder

“If you work hard, and you’re kind, amazing things will happen.” Conan O’Brien’s famous quote is Carly Reeve’s email signature, and is part of the 2930 Creative mission statement. Carly oversees internal operations for 2930 Creative, manages vendor relationships, and strategizes with the digital team for new ways to bring awareness to 2930’s growing brand. Carly founded 2930 Creative with Chris Reeves in 2012. Initially, the agency only provided social media services. However, as the industry changed, so did 2930 Creative’s service offerings and team. Carly aided Chris in searching out and vetting the best of raw creative talent for the 2930 Creative team. Her favorite things to work on are branding identity projects and full scale ad campaigns. To date, some of her happiest 2930 moments have been the yearly Christmas parties, annual March Madness tournament, and Fantasy Football league.

Carly resides in downtown Dallas, Texas with her husband, Chris, their three dogs, and one cat (who doesn’t know he’s a cat – no one tell him). When she’s not working on 2930 Creative, she’s probably still working on it anyway. Carly is also the founder of boutique party supply store Hattie’s Room. She loves movies with superheroes, reading books by Neil Gaiman, Cavs basketball, traveling, and is currently falling in love with baking.

JOSH DUKE, Director of Content

Josh Duke is the director of content at 2930 Creative, in charge of writing blog posts, website copy, and much more. A passionate writer, Josh graduated from Southern Methodist University with a degree in creative writing. After college, he began working with Chris, where he gained experience working for major brands like Marriott, Gas Monkey Garage, and more. When Chris decided to strike out on his own and start 2930 Creative with Carly, Josh joined soon after, where he learned the importance of rolling up shirt sleeves and getting down to business.

Josh’s journey has taken him from Texas to New Jersey and now Florida, where he and his wife Rachel live with two cats that love to fight in the middle of the night. In addition to writing blog posts and becoming far too invested in politics for his own sanity, Josh loves helping with the 2930 podcasts. In his spare time, he writes fiction and reads sci-fi. When he is not writing, he loves to play overly complicated board games with his friends, watch (science fiction) movies, and play video games, as well as travel when he can.

ASHLEY SMITH, Art Director

What do you get when you combine a love of typography, an obsession with branding, and aspirations to be the Leslie Knope of gift giving? Our Art Director, Ashley.

Ashley joined our team in 2014 after graduating from Oral Roberts University with a Bachelor of Science in Graphic Design. Her passion is using design to help people – whether that’s creating ads for a non-profit to promote their message, or designing a brand identity that helps a business attract new customers.

Ashley lives in Oklahoma City, and when she’s not designing, you can find her training to run half marathons, doing DIY projects, traveling with her husband, taking photos, painting, and cheering on the OKC Thunder.

MATT MARIAUX, Video Content Director

Matt is a video producer and editor with a passion for telling stories that are often overlooked. Having experience in journalism and comedy, Matt has a unique ability to see the world in a way that is both entertaining and true. His humble beginnings as a young actor/bum drove him towards creating YouTube videos with his friends until he sold out and started making a modest living producing advertisements for small businesses and non-profits around Dallas. Now a man with more than $26 in his bank account, Matt sought out to travel the world, pointing his camera at a variety of sights including coffee farms, nature, and a magician.

Since joining the team at 2930 Creative, he has produced award-winning content for clients and has been given the opportunity to create entertaining videos to help cultivate the 2930 culture. Matt hosts Curate and One Star Review along with his co-workers and produces gaming content on Twitch and YouTube when away from the office. He plays a lot of video games. A doctor might say it is unhealthy how many video games he plays. But Matt doesn’t know any doctors.

CAROLINA MERINO, Digital Strategy Specialist

As a digital strategist for 2930 Creative, Carolina uses her passion for social media and social storytelling to create dynamic and effective strategies for 2930 Creative and its clients. She is most excited to continue to grow with the 2930 Creative team and to expand her skill base beyond strategy into other facets of digital advertising.

She first fell in love with the internet at the age of 16 when she heard that iconic world wide web dial-up sound and realized she could make friends anywhere in the world. She has been obsessed with it and immersed in that world ever since. This is where her love and understanding of social media truly began.

She loves Dallas, 90’s R&B, watching indie movies, and has a very serious and ongoing relationship with pizza. When she’s not working, you can find her enjoying the Dallas bar & dining scene, loudly cheering for the Dallas Cowboys or Dallas Mavericks, watching YouTube makeup tutorials, furiously tweeting about whatever current pop culture thing is happening, laughing hysterically with her friends until her sides hurt, or in a dive bar somewhere singing karaoke.

HOLLY THOMAS, Director of Client Services

Holly brings over 10 years of marketing, advertising and account management experience to the 2930 team. From Chemical Engineering to doctors’ offices and hospitals to golf fitness and more, she has worked with both B2B as well as B2C businesses in dozens of market segments. At 2930, she’s bridges the relationship between the creative and the analytical, working with each client build their own unique strategy, help them achieve results and maintain ongoing success.

In her personal time, Holly enjoys cooking and hosting dinners, working on renovation projects around the house and spending time with friends and family. Holly met her husband while undergrads at Baylor University, and they live in Plano with their new baby and adopted Labrador Barney.

JONATHAN ALVIZO, Video Production Assistant

Jonathan’s time at 2930 Creative has enhanced his collaborative approached to creating content. He is constantly inspired by the energy surrounding the 2930 Creative Family. He grew up in the heart of Dallas, Texas, where he attended prestigious Booker T. Washington High School for the Performing and Visual Arts. During his time there, he spent countless hours building sets, designing the lighting for performances and even breaking some legs while performing himself. After some time bouncing around several schools he settled down at the University of North Texas (GO MEAN GREEN!) where he is currently studying Graphic Design and Advertising.

When he is not in school or at the agency, you can find Jonathan at Oak Lawn Coffee making cool latte art and running their social media as the social media and community manager. He also volunteers as the creative director for Hiz Kids Ministry in Dallas, Texas where he creates content for lessons. If he’s not doing either of those things, you can probably find him jumping on the trampoline with his younger brother, doing CrossFit, eating great Tacos or running around the DFW metroplex trying to find new ways to fill his Instagram feed.
